2025 Coaching Sessions
We are offering the chance to benefit from coaching by two qualified coaches. This is restricted to members only, but is provided free of charge. So far 16 members have signed up for this opportunity to improve their game and technique.
Six weekly sessions will be held at the club on a Thursday evening commencing on 24th April 2025. Each session will be a 'stand alone' and look at getting fit and ready to bowl, different techniques, the rules, common faults, the all important etiquette and just general tips on how to improve ones play and enjoyment of this fun but challenging game.
Our club coach and experienced members are always willing to help those new to bowls with the basics of the game and help you settle in quickly and happily. Enjoyment of the game and friendly socialising are our main aims, so new to bowls or not, you can be sure of a warm welcome to our club.
The first session was held as planned and went extremely well. Siobhan showed us a series of warm up exercises and then Chris and David discussed choice of the right bowl; delivery and stance; choosing the correct line and other useful tips which helped both new and experienced bowlers. Attendance was excellent and everyone is looking forward to next week.
Further to the above, all six sessions were well attended and benefitted those who came along. We will look to provide something similar in 2026 for our new members.
